Horton-Trippe is vastly under appreciated. Sexism in the art world played a role, as it did for may women artists of her generation. But the multidisciplinary nature of her practice–which spans video, performance, installation and painting–also makes her a difficult artist pin down–for dealers and collectors who overvalue consistency.
